Visual Sound V2 Series V2RT66 Route 66 Overdrive and Compression Guitar Multi Effects Pedal

Visual Sound V2 Series V2RT66 Route 66 Overdrive and Compression Guitar Multi Effects Pedal
$149.95

The Visual Sound Route 66 multi-effects pedal gives you the great tone guitarists have come to love, plus an added noise reduction system that gives you that quiet ride you've always wanted. Classic compression combined with classic overdrive--these two effects sound great on their own, but combine them, as the Route 66 pedal has, and get the ultimate combination in a single pedal pedal.

The V2 Route 66 pedal features redesigned noise reduction on the compressor channel, and additional low-drive range on the overdrive channel. The great-sounding overdrive channel is modeled after the sound of the original Tube Screamer, but it also has a bass boost switch. The compressor can be set for classic squash or clean boost with the unique preamp stage and gain knob. This allows for a truckload of clean gain. The compressor even has its own tone control. The 2 effects can be used independently or combined to complement one another.

In 1999, Visual Sound made the statement "Our Route 66 is sure to become as legendary as its namesake." With countless great guitarists using it ever since, the Route 66 pedal from Visual Sound has become just that, a legend!

The V2RT66 Overdrive and Compression Guitar Multi Effects Pedal features a diecast aluminum housing, ultra-reliable 10 million cycle switching, easy battery access and circuit protection from AC adapters. Wide and sturdy stomp switches designed by Bob Weil himself. And a redesigned, noise-free experience. This version of the Route 66 pedal has raised the bar for years to come.

Maxon TBO-9 True Tube Booster/Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal

Maxon TBO-9 True Tube Booster/Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
$262.50

The Maxon's TBO-9True Tube Booster/Overdrive is a guitar effects pedal that features a US Military spec subminiature tube at its core. Subminiature tubes are the final frontier of vacuum tubes, as the supply of quality vintage tubes is rapidly dwindling. Used extensively during World War II, subminiatures were largely abandoned by 1955 in favor of transistor technology, leaving a healthy stock of quality NOS tubes behind.

To create its lush overdrive tone, the TBO-9 guitar pedal blends this subminiature tube stage with a solid-state distortion circuit. Unlike other tube overdrives, the TBO-9 overdrive pedal employs a unique "pre-tube" circuit configuration, where the tube comes before the solid-state distortion circuit in the signal chain. By cascading the tube stage into the distortion stage, a more realistic tube-amp tone is achieved. The result is a warm yet powerful guitar tone that is extremely interactive with the player's performance and responds exactly like a hard-working tube amp.

The Maxon TBO-9 pedal's circuit features a clean Blend function built into the Drive control. At zero Drive, the TBO-9 passes clean signal only along to the Tone and Amplifier stages of the pedal. However, this clean signal is fed from the tube section of the pedal, whose gain can be adjusted via the Boost control. As the Drive control is increased, the solid-state distortion circuit is blended with the tube-driven clean signal. In this manner a wide variety of clean boost, semi-clean, overdriven and fully distorted tones can be achieved simply by manipulating the pedal's Drive and Boost controls.

Both the tube and solid-state sections of the circuit are fed with 30 volts DC thanks to the TBO-9 pedal's internal voltage regulators. Running the circuit at higher voltage provides a more consistent tone with increased headroom and dynamic response.

The performance of the tube is kept stable and reliable thanks to Maxon's unique heater inrush current control, which feeds the tube with a lower startup voltage to extend tube life. The complex multi-voltage operation of the Maxon TBO-9 prompted Maxon to develop a unique power supply for this delay pedal: the AC2009. The AC2009 provides very consistent high current that is regulated and filtered to provide stable, noise-free power to the TBO-9's circuit. The AC2009 is auto-sensing, so it can be used anywhere in the world by simply changing out the detachable plug cord on the output side of the power supply.

Like all Maxon Nine Series models, the TBO-9 features mechanical true bypass switching for direct, unaltered signal in bypass model.

If you crave the warmth and natural dynamic response of tubes, the Maxon TBO-9 delivers a variety of true tube tones at the touch of your foot.

Seymour Duncan SFX-07 Shape Shifter Tap Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal

Seymour Duncan SFX-07 Shape Shifter Tap Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal
$157.95

You'll love the Seymour Duncan SFX-07 Shape Shifter Tremolo pedal if you like the smooth, easy-to-dial-in sound of vintage amp tremolo. But if you also crave unrestrained versatility, and you want to delve into ultra-modern experimental sounds like flutters, shimmers, warbles, and even radical "helicopter chops," the Shape Shifter is your dream tremolo.

The Shape Shifter pedal's sonically pure, 100% analog signal path delivers the familiar lush, hypnotic, pulsing tremolo vibes characteristic of '50s tube amps. Digital tap control offers incredible control. Shape and Wave controls provide unparalleled versatility.

There are two modes. In Rate mode the tremolo speed varies continuously from one to 20 cycles per second. An LED pulses in time with the tremolo effect for easy Rate setting. In Ratio mode, tapping the Tap Rate switch establishes the speed, allowing for easy synchronization of the tremolo rate and song tempo. Also, in Ratio mode, the tapped tempo can be expressed in your choice of four tap-to-note ratios: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, or 4:1 (1/4 notes, 1/8 notes, triplets, or 1/16 notes).

The Wave control allows the tremolo effect to go from the smooth modulation of a sine wave through the sharper characteristics of a triangle wave to the abrupt on/off effect of a square wave drive.

Most classic tremolos increase the volume over a certain period of time—say, a quarter of a second—and then decrease the volume over a similar period of time, giving a smooth, even feeling to the tremolo effect. When set to the middle of its range, the Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter's Shape control does exactly that, but when the Shape control is rotated away from its center position, the relationship between the time spent increasing the volume and the time spent reducing the volume changes. For example, you can dial in one-tenth of a second of volume increase followed by four-tenths of a second of volume decrease, or vice-versa, adding a very different feel to the tremolo effect. With quick swell and a slow drop, the effect is percussive like a piano. Conversely, with a slow swell and sudden drop, the result is reminiscent of a tape played backwards.
