Rich Gibson Heritage
The artisans at Gibson took the iconic crown inlays of the J-200 fretboard and headstock and made them even more regal and realistic looking to represent the class and rich heritage of the Monarch guitar. Both have extremely intricate inlay patterns that are executed with incredible precision containing multiple inlays within inlays of mother-of-pearl and Paua abolone.
Hand-crafted Monarch Detailing
The delicate volute at the hand stop at the rear of the headstock is hand executed on equally matched bound ebony. The J-250 Monarch is veneered with the guitar's serial number displayed in the banners of the mother-of-pearl inlay.
The Quintessence of Gibson Quality
The extra fretboard ebony binding harkens back to the classiest guitars of the jazz era of the '30s. The complete coverage of body joints with extra wide paua shell, a 3-piece back, and a new floral tortoise pickguard engraving are all done to surpass all fine guitars including the flagship Gibson model J-200.

Finely detailed appointments on the classy Monarch guitar: multi-ply body binding with abalone inlay, ebony moustache bridge with abalone inlays, genuine diamond gem "I" Gibson logo setting, and gold tuners all come together under a lacquer finish to unfold in a regal visual presentation. Sublimely sophisticated tone emanates from the guitar's solid select Sitka spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides. The Eastern Curly Maple neck provides additional warm resonance.

With a gear ratio of 15:1, the Gotoh's deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage, and a special lubricant inside the gear box provides smooth and accurate tuning stability.
Pickguard
The tortoise pickguard on the Gibson Arlo Guthrie LG-2 is a small teardrop shape designed especially for the 3/4-size acoustic guitar. As with all Gibson's pickguards, the coloring, inlay, binding, and engraving are all done by hand.

The fingerboard also sports a rolled edge—instead of the usual right angle where the fingerboard surface meets the neck. Gibson Acoustic's rolled edges are slightly beveled for an extremely smooth and comfortable feel, enhancing the playability of the Arlo Guthrie LG-2.

The Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar is the prince of a range of Gibson flattops now referred to as "Round-Shoulder Dreadnoughts." This elegant workhorse debuted in 1942, and became an instant favorite for its rich, warm, vocal tone and excellent projection. Today, this Gibson acoustic guitar is played by the likes of Bob Dylan, Ralph McTell, Billy Jo Armstrong, and Lucinda Williams. Carrying accurate touches such as a soft-V neck profile, teardrop tortoise pickguard, 4-ply top binding, and banner headstock inlay (declaring "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough"), the Gibson J-45 True Vintage is an accurate representation of the acoustic guitar that became the standard of hard-gigging bluegrass, folk, and country artists of the 1940s and 1950s.
Each Gibson True Vintage J-45 acoustic guitar is built in Bozeman, Montana, with a top made from solid Adirondack red spruce, a rare and highly prized tonewood, and constructed with hot hide glue, just like back in the day.
